🖼️ Image Converter Guide
Supported formats: JPG · PNG · WebP · HEIC — All processing happens locally in your browser. Files are never uploaded.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1
Upload or drag in images — Click the upload area or drag image files into the dashed box. You can select multiple images at once for batch processing.
2
Choose an output format — Pick your target format from the dropdown menu: PNG, JPEG (JPG), or WebP.
3
Adjust quality (optional) — Drag the quality slider (10%–100%). Higher values mean larger files with better quality. The default 85% is the recommended sweet spot.
4
Set maximum dimensions (optional) — To downsize images, enter a max pixel value (e.g., 1920). Leave it blank to keep the original dimensions.
5
Click Convert — Click the “Convert images” button, wait for the progress bar to finish, then download your converted images.
Format Comparison
| Format | Characteristics | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| JPEG | Lossy compression, small file size | Photographs, web images |
| PNG | Lossless compression, supports transparency | Logos, icons, screenshots |
| WebP | Smaller than JPEG/PNG with comparable quality | Web optimization, bandwidth savings |
Pro Tips
- HEIC to JPG: Drag iPhone HEIC photos directly into the tool to convert them to universally compatible JPG format.
- Batch processing: Select multiple images at once and apply the same settings to all — saves time on repetitive tasks.
- Compress + convert in one step: Adjust the quality slider while converting to compress your images simultaneously — no extra steps needed.
✅ Tip: WebP files are roughly 25%–35% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality, making them ideal for website images. Virtually all modern browsers support WebP.
⚠️ Note: HEIC format relies on a WebAssembly decoder (approx. 1.5 MB). The engine downloads and caches automatically the first time you load an HEIC file.
